Many of you have wondered what has been happening since my last post. I’ve been singularly immersed in what I define as a self-imposed productive absence for the last seven months. The result is a comprehensive art catalogue documenting the creative development, exhibition, and public program activities for my recent solo exhibition titled Contradictions – Bringing The Past Forward at San Bernardino County Museum while exploring the next evolution of my paintings.
Producing the manuscript, self-publishing and painting have been my singular focus during this time, and a labor of love. I’m excited about the new work which I’ll share with you in the coming months. The catalogue chronicles what I believe to be the first contemporary art exhibit to document, visually interpret, and honor the untold, stories of African American Homesteaders who settled in the Mojave Desert in the early 20th century.
